Viadrina Conflict Moderation
Viadrina Conflict Moderation Station (V-KMS)
On behalf of the university´s presidential board, the Institute for Conflict Management has been providing limited support and assistance to members of the Viadrina community in cases of conflict, complex decision-making situations, and strategic processes since 2014.
The Viadrina Conflict Moderation Station (V-KMS) was established as part of the conflict management program designed by Christian Hochmuth and Lars Kirchhoff. V-KMS employees act omnipartially and, depending on the needs, take on the roles of (conflict) moderators, mediators, or counsellors. They work in strict confidentiality and are not bound by instructions. If they are biased in certain constellations or if there are insufficient human resources available, V-KMS employees make recommendations for external moderators.
The Conflict Moderation Station (V-KMS) works selectively with other actors at Viadrina, such as the Discrimination Protection Centre, the Department of Human Resources, or the staff councils. Christian Hochmuth and Lars Kirchhoff head the Viadrina Conflict Mediation Office and are the first points of contact.
