Academic Staff Member for coordination and conceptualisation of teaching, research and transfer and Coordination Lead of the ViAPACS certificate programmeLaura Bannan-Fischer is responsible for the academic coordination and conceptualisation of teaching, research and transfer at the ICM. She serves as Coordination Lead of the certificate programme Viadrina Applied Peace and Conflict Studies (ViAPACS).
She earned her Master’s degree in International Studies and Peace and Conflict Research at Goethe University Frankfurt, Technical University of Darmstadt, and Tel Aviv University. Previously, she studied Cultural & Social Studies at the European University Viadrina and International Relations at Galatasaray University in Istanbul.
Laura Bannan-Fischer previously worked as a science communicator at the Berlin Office of the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), focusing on knowledge transfer, policy advice, and interdisciplinary collaboration with an emphasis on foreign and security policy as well as environmental crises. Prior to that, she supported the international networking efforts of the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE).
Since 2023, she has served as chair of the board of the EWANA Center for Cultural Understanding.
