Student employeeZoe Rentmeister completed a voluntary service programme in Peru before starting her Bachelor's degree in European Studies at the University of Osnabrück. Since then, she has been continuously involved as a volunteer in her sending organisation and leads educational policy seminars for (former) volunteers. She also worked as a mentor for first-semester students at the University of Osnabrück and taught German as a foreign language in a youth centre.
As part of her studies, she completed an internship in the foreign department of the Office of the Federal President. She is currently studying for a Master's degree in Sociocultural Studies at the European-University Viadrina, specialising in gender and feminist studies and migration studies. Parallel to her studies, she works as a research assistant at the IKM and participates in the ViAPACS certificate programme (Viadrina applied Peace and Conflict Studies). A particular research interest is the emotion of shame, on which she has realised a self-initiated collaborative feminist study project. She also founded an alumni network initiative (based on the ViAPACS programme), which organises discussion evenings on peace and conflict.
